Be Social questions and answers
People ask us the same good questions again and again. Is there a Bangladeshi Facebook? Is Be Social free? Can I use it in Bangla? This page gathers the answers in one place: first short guides to accounts, privacy, safety, language, the app and Pages, then the questions people search for most.
Accounts and signing up
You can join with a Bangladeshi mobile number, which receives a one-time SMS code, or with an email address. Be Social is for adults, so you must be 18 or older. Creating an account is free, and so are posting, messaging and calls.
Your profile has a cover photo, a bio and an About section for work, education, city and family. Fill in as much or as little as you like.
Privacy: you choose who sees what
Every post has its own audience: Public, Followers, Friends or Only me. You can lock your profile so people who are not your friends cannot save your photo, and you decide who is allowed to message you.
You can download a copy of your data at any time. If you need a break, deactivate your account; if you want to leave, delete it, and it is removed after 30 days. The full privacy policy is at besocial.bd/privacy.
Safety tools for your account
If someone bothers you, block, mute or restrict them, and use the hidden words filter to hide words you do not want to see. Report any post or person that breaks the rules.
To protect your login, turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app. Be Social alerts you when a new device signs in and shows a list of where you are logged in. Our child safety policy is at besocial.bd/child-safety.
Language: Bangla or English
The whole app works in Bangla and in English, and you can switch any time. If typing Bangla on your keyboard is slow, the post box helps: type "ami" in English letters and it suggests আমি.
The app and the website
Use besocial.bd in any browser on a phone or computer. On Android, install the app from besocial.bd/download/besocial.apk. There is no iPhone app yet, so iPhone users open the website. Light and dark mode, a data saver and a choice of video quality keep things smooth on low-cost phones and slow connections.
Pages for shops, artists and organisations
Create a Page for a shop, brand, public figure, artist, organisation or community. Pick a category, add admins and editors, and show your website, email, phone and address. Pages can post jobs and can be verified with a blue badge.
Selling one or two things rather than running a shop? Haat-Bazaar lets you list an item with photos and a price in taka for buyers near you.
